Yuka our little siamese was lucky like Kiri and Kiliki. We adopted her in November 1999 when she was 5 months old, found abandoned and poisoned. She only spent one night in the animal shelter I took her home the next morning wrapped in a towel after hearing her desperate cry for help. She only just made it thanks to our vet´s good care, but now although quite small she is in excellent health and specially grateful. Any change in her daily routine seems to spell danger for her so we let her be a bit of a hermit. Her friends Kiri and Kiliki are very sweet and gentle with her. |

We are going to let Penélope tell you her own story for a change: “My name is Penelope de La Gallarda and I want to begin by saying that I am also a champion (just like these cats) and the mother of champions. I have been living with these good people for the last two years since the age of 5. Previously I was with my breeders in Estella not very far from here. They tease me by saying that I´m “recycled”. Since I could no longer have puppies I found a new home where I am the one and only basset and enjoy my retirement. Although I am outnumbered by the cats (whom I sometimes consider to be a little bit spoilt) we get along surprisingly well. I´m very affectionate, a bit stubborn and my favourite passtimes are eating and going for walks.
